What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual therapy: I work with my hands only. I look at the body as a whole and pay attention to how its structures, such as muscles, joints, fascia and organs, move and work together.

With babies I use very gentle, barely noticeable touch. You stay with your child the whole time.

Why parents and patients come to me.

Babies and children

  • Your baby cries a lot and finds it hard to settle
  • The head almost always lies on the same side
  • Breastfeeding or bottle feeding is not going well
  • Tummy ache, wind, restless nights
  • After a long, fast or difficult birth
  • Restless movement in toddlers

Adults

  • Back pain and sciatica
  • Tense neck, headaches
  • Hip and pelvis
  • Discomfort during pregnancy
  • Period pain
  • Pain that has lasted a long time

Osteopathy does not replace a diagnosis or treatment by a doctor. If the cause of your complaints is unclear, please have them checked by a doctor first.

I also accompany women during pregnancy and people in palliative care. More about pregnancy (in German)

How an appointment works.

  1. Book online

Choose a day and time on Doctolib, which is also available in English. The confirmation arrives straight away by email.

  2. Arrive and talk

In a short initial conversation you tell me what is going on and since when.

  3. Gentle treatment

Usually around 45 minutes for babies and about an hour for adults.

  4. Rest

Stay lying down for a few minutes. Afterwards we discuss whether another appointment makes sense.

From engineer to osteopath.

I was born in 1974 in Ithaca, New York, and first studied engineering cybernetics, which is about how systems regulate themselves.

Today I ask that question of the body. I have been a Heilpraktiker (a state licensed practitioner of natural medicine in Germany) since 2012 and a certified osteopath since 2016, after five years of training at the Milne Institute. Babies and adults living with pain are especially close to my heart.

Prices

What a treatment costs.

Osteopathy is a private service, invoiced according to the German fee schedule for Heilpraktiker (GebüH). Many private health insurers and supplementary policies reimburse part of the cost, and some statutory health insurers pay a subsidy. Please check with your insurer beforehand. I am happy to help with the application.

Cancellation is free of charge up to 48 hours before the appointment, directly in Doctolib or by phone. For later cancellations I charge 50 % of the treatment fee.

Frequently asked questions

Will the treatment hurt my baby?

No. With infants I work with very gentle, barely noticeable touch. You are there the whole time and can pick up your child at any moment.

From what age can I bring my baby?

From the first weeks of life. Many parents come in the first months after the birth.

How many appointments will I need?

That depends entirely on your concern. After each treatment we talk openly about whether another appointment makes sense and when.

What should I bring to the first appointment?

For your baby: a blanket, a fresh nappy and, if you have it, the yellow child health booklet (U-Heft). As an adult: comfortable clothes and any existing medical reports.

Do you also make home visits?

Yes, home visits are possible by arrangement. Please give me a call or send me a WhatsApp message.
